The Problem

A North West hospice wanted to adopt AI but had no clear view of where it was safe to use, or where it must never touch patient or safeguarding data.

The Solution

A two-week fixed-fee audit mapped every workflow against safeguarding, GDPR and CQC constraints, producing a prioritised roadmap and a "do not use AI for this" list.

The Story

The hospice had heard the promises: AI could save hours, streamline reporting and reduce admin. But between the promise and the reality sat safeguarding leads, CQC inspectors and trustees with reasonable questions nobody could answer. The leadership team knew AI was coming. They just did not know which parts of it were safe to touch.

Over two weeks, I mapped every workflow across clinical admin, fundraising, communications and reporting, and assessed each against three constraints: safeguarding, GDPR and CQC. The result was not a list of tools to buy. It was a clear picture of where AI could safely save hours, where it must never be used, and what the team needed to do before adopting anything.

The readout landed on a Friday. Leadership approved adoption the same afternoon, because the document answered the questions their safeguarding lead and trustees were going to ask before they asked them.

The Outcome

Six hours a week of safe time savings identified. Leadership approved adoption the same week the readout was delivered.
